Italian navy rescues capsized migrant ship

At least seven people drowned when an overloaded cargo ship carrying migrants from Libya capsized near the coast of Sicily on May 25, 2016. The Italian Navy successfully rescued over 500 other passengers. The navy’s Bettica patrol boat spotted “a boat in precarious conditions off the coast of Libya with numerous migrants aboard,” it said in a statement.

Festivities for the 25th annual Fleet Week celebration kicked off in New York Harbor yesterday, May 23, 2012. Fleet week began in 1984 to celebrate the U.S. Navy and Marines Corps with a week of ship visitations and military demonstrations. A military flyover on Memorial Day completes the celebration to honor those killed while serving in the military.
