Splish Splash: The 2013 World Belly Boarding Championships
Over a hundred surfers with traditional wooden boards turned out for the 11th annual World Belly Boarding Championships at Chapel Porth in Cornwall, England on Sept. 8. According to the WBBC, the event was first started in 2003 by Martyn Ward and Chris Ryan as a memorial contest to the late Arthur Traveller, a Londoner and Chapel Porth boarder. Organized by the National Trust, the championship celebrates the art of surf riding. | Photos by Matt Cardy of Getty Images.
