See aerial photos of the landslide scene after part of 26th Street in Charles Village collapsed onto a CSX railroad track Wednesday following heavy rains. About 20 Charles Village residents face up to 40 days away from their homes while city engineers assess the stability of the area. These photos were taken Thursday by Baltimore photography duo Belinda and Terry Kilby of Elevated Element.
Although it’s just nine square blocks in the middle of Baltimore City, Abell is known in part for its vibrantly colored “Painted Lady” rowhouses (an extension of its former Charles Village connection) and historic architecture.
The Darkroom caught up with instagrammer Jen DuMars, aka @strange_agent, about being motivated by failure, what makes a place and why most of her photos aren’t captioned.
The longtime Maryland resident, who splits time between West Annapolis and Charles Village, shoots her Instagram photos with an iPhone 4S, many while commuting to her public policy job in Washington.
