It’s that time of year again, when thousands of colorfully-dressed fans of anime and East Asian culture flock to Baltimore’s Convention Center. This photo shoot highlights some of the best costumes seen at Otakon Friday.

Area gearheads can pore over hundreds of cars of every size, shape and sticker price at the annual showcase this weekend. Runs through Sunday at the Baltimore Convention Center, 1 W. Pratt St. Hours are 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $5-$12, with kids 6 and under admitted free today and Saturday, and kids 12 and under admitted free Sunday. With Otakon – the massive celebration of East Asian pop culture held at the Baltimore Convention Center – now in its 20th year, we wanted an insider’s view of the action.
