Every four years for a total of eight days, politicians, state delegates, political pundits, celebrities, photographers and protesters come together at the Republican and Democratic national conventions in separate US cities. This year, the RNC was held in Cleveland and the DNC in Philadelphia. Most of the action was inside the convention halls with police and protesters keeping things cool on the streets outside.
