- What makes Vinny Allen #82 such a valuable pass receiver? “He catches the ball,” John Voight, High Point High School football coach, said matter-of-factly. “Really, he’s got great hands. When the ball hits him he’s got it.” The son of John Allen, former Washington Redskins center, he caught 55 passes for 790 yards and 12 touchdowns as the Eagles completed their first undefeated season. - Linebacker Bob Ehrlich left little doubt about his ability in one of the biggest games of the year for Gilman. He was overpowering against Patterson in the game which clinched the Maryland Scholastic Association B Conference Division II championship.
