Volunteers build Monarch Academy a playground
Over 100 volunteers from BGE, Monarch Academy Baltimore, The Children’s Guild, organizers from KaBOOM!, and local residents came together to help transform an asphalt play area into a new playground that is bursting with color.

More than 1000 students at The Monarch Academy Baltimore will enjoy the new playground that was built in one day and created from drawings made by the students.
BGE and KaBOOM partnered in the project which helps bring active play into the lives of young children, particularly those growing up in poverty stricken areas of the city.
