The Maryland Zoo at Baltimore will open on Saturday “Penguin Coast,” its new home for the it’s African penguins. The zoo is home to one of the largest colonies of the birds in North America. The exhibit will allow the number of endangered birds to double from its current number of 50.
For 800 children in Morocco, damaged or burnt skin is genetic, irreparable, and needs to be replaced. Mohamed-El Kotbi, 17, and Driss Hamouti, 21, live with this tragic condition. Due to a disease called Xeroderma Pigmentosum – which medical professionals generally shorthand to XP – they are prone to blistering and burning of their skin and eyes upon the slightest sun exposure

Sunshine is the fuel for this street-legal family car that traveled from Los Angeles to San Francisco on Pacific Coast Highway. The solar-powered car, “Stella,” is able to travel 500 miles on a single charge and reach 80 miles per hour.
Quinceaneras are a traditional celebration for girls turning 15. The Nicaragua’s Association of Mother and Father of Children with Leukemia and Cancer (MAPANICA) organizes quinceaneras for cancer patients annually, and there were 44 celebrants in 2014.
