Sochi Olympics Day 6: Shaun White lands in 4th place in halfpipe, Erin Hamlin 1st-ever American to medal in singles luge
Shaun White declared the Sochi halfpipe nightmare over after opening his bid for a third straight Olympic title by storming into the final with the best score in qualifying on Tuesday. But that wasn’t enough to secure a medal, making this the first Winter Olympics since 1998 that an American does not win gold in men’s snowboard halfpipe.
