A look at President Obama in the month of November
One year after being re-elected president, President Obama’s month of November was filled with flack about the Healthcare.gov website, remembering the anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s assassination, Veteran’s Day, attending a University of Maryland basketball game, pardoning a turkey and doing some Black Friday shopping. Here’s a selection of photos highlighting the activities of U.S. President Obama in the month of November.
- Supporters of Iranian opposition group Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) hold flags showing Maryam Rajavi, head of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), as they rally against Iraq’s Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki hours before he is scheduled to meet with U.S. President Barack Obama, at the White House in Washington, November 1, 2013. The MEK fought on the side of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein during the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war, mounting attacks on Iran from Iraq, and are calling for the U.S. to hold Iraqi leaders responsible for an attack on their Camp Ashraf settlement outside Baghdad in September 2013, in which 52 people were killed. The MEK blames the Iraqi army and special forces acting at Iran’s behest for this attack, though the Iraqi government has said the accusation was baseless. The NCRI is affiliated to the MEK.
