Thousand flood Gettysburg for Civil War battle’s 150th anniversary
This month, more than 8,000 Civil War re-enactors are marking the 150th anniversary of the 1863 Battle of Gettysburg. In 1863, Confederate General Robert E. Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia was routed during the doomed frontal assault, considered the turning point in the Civil War and a watershed moment in U.S. history. Union and Confederate armies suffered a combined total of up to 51,000 casualties over three days, the highest number of any battle in the four-year war.

These photos are breathtaking… the only bad thing about them is that they make mine look flat and lifeless! I would love to see these in a book too! Or be able to add some to the family photo book I’m making with my own substandard photos!

I love this feature, but I can’t get beyond the second or third picture. The program just stops working.

Thanks for the great photos and Thanks to the many hundreds of reenactors for a spectacular turnout of the 150th Anniversary of Battle of Gettysburg. Sorry I couldn’t have been there; currently living on the West Coast of Oregon. Enjoyed your nice photo essay immensely.

Fantastic pictures . I hope the gentleman who took the pictures at Gettysburg makes a book out of them. Everyone who has children should take their kids to see this live!!! Great stuff 🙂
