Every summer, Maple Lawn Farms in Fulton brings in 20,000 newborn baby turkeys to their grounds. For several months, they feed them, raise them and let them grow in time for Thanksgiving. Farm manager Chris Bohrer says they take a lot of pride in their turkeys because they eat them, too. Learn more about Maple Lawn Farms and its turkeys in the video below the gallery.

Day-off? No plans? You might want to consider a daytrip to the Mercer Museum in Doylestown, PA.

Built entirely of concrete, the museum houses thousands of artifacts obtained by archaeologist and scholar Henry C. Mercer — from floor to ceiling and everything in between with boats to carriages and cigar advertisements, to guns and traps and vintage medical instruments.

Mercer believed that “the story of human progress and accomplishments was told by the tools and objects that people used,” according to the museum’s site. Among the 50,000 artifacts that can be seen, some of the oldest include a whale oil lamp that is over 2,000 years old and Native American implements that dates back to 6,000 – 8,000 B.C., the site also said.

The second solar eclipse of 2012 occured above northern Australia just moments ago giving thousands of observers in Queensland an early morning treat. The 2 minute and 5 second total eclipse welcomed the day as the moon crossed in front of the Sun just 14° above the eastern horizon.

Previously this year, the western U.S. was treated to a ‘ring of fire‘ eclipse in May. Today’s events came a decade after Australia’s last solar eclipse and were the first in the region in over 1,300 years.

The high tide mark in Venice reached its sixth-highest level since 1872 on Sunday, after heavy rains and intense winds caused flooding in the Italian city.

While some flooding is typical in Venice during this time of year — including some instances earlier in November — news reports have estimated that 70 percent of the city was inundated by water this week.
