One of the strongest storms Great Britain has seen in decades is expected to hit its southern half Monday. Nicknamed “Saint Jude” after the saint who is traditionally celebrated on the day the storm is expected to hit, the storm is expected to bring winds of about 80 miles per hour and heavy rain.
At least one person was killed and 21 injured when Typhoon Soulik roared across Taiwan on Saturday. Thousands were evacuated in Taiwan, as well as in mainland China where residents were preparing for the typhoon’s arrival.
Residents of the Northeastern United States are dealing with the aftermath of a blizzard that pummeled the region on Saturday, dumping up to 40 inches of snow. At least nine people were killed and thousands were without power, Reuters reported on Sunday.
