Dancers competed in the 2017 Pacific Pole Championships at the Convention Center in Los Angeles, California on April 9, 2017. Combining dance and acrobatics, pole dancing, originally entertainment in strip clubs, soon became mainstream as a form of exercise and expression. Competitions are now held in countries throughout the world, and pole dancing has a participant level estimated at over 30,000 in the US.
Bubble artist Deni Yang performed his Mega Bubblefest Laser Show Thursday at the Discovery Cube Science Center in Santa Ana, California. Deni, the son of famed bubble master Fan Yang, has followed in his father’s footsteps and travels the world performing his bubble shows. His family holds the world record for largest soap bubble, measuring 167 feet long, that was created in Beijing, China in 2009.

The Ghode Jatra festival, an annual horse festival, is celebrated in Kathmandu, Nepal, Monday, March 27, 2017. According to legend, the festival is held to celebrate the victory over a demon named Tundi and people believe that the clamor of horses’ hooves during the festival keeps the demon’s spirit away.
