North Korea kicked off a massive parade in the center of Pyongyang on May 10 to celebrate a just-concluded ruling party congress that was seen as a formal coronation for supreme leader Kim Jong-Un.

The Kenya Wildlife Service has stacked 105 tons of ivory consisting of 16,000 tusks, and 1 ton of rhino horn, from stockpiles around the country, in preparation for it to be torched Saturday to encourage global efforts to help stop the poaching of elephants and rhinos.
The Alaskan Way viaduct, which the two-mile Seattle tunnel will replace, is scheduled to be closed for about two weeks beginning Friday, April 29, as a precaution as tunnel boring begins under the structure. The tunneling machine is boring a double-decker traffic tunnel to replace the viaduct damaged in an earthquake in 2001.
South Sudan is holding a wrestling for peace tournament, bringing together athletes from around the country. The last big tournament was canceled when civil war broke out in December 2013.
