Word of rescue workers recovering a second flight recorder from Malaysian Airline Flight 17 surfaced early Friday morning, just as pro-Russian separatists in the Ukraine agreed to provide assistance in the investigation into the crashed airliner. According to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) — a security and rights body — the Ukraine rebels said they will ensure safe access for international experts visiting the site.

Immigrants who have been caught crossing the border illegally are housed inside the McAllen Border Patrol Station in McAllen, Texas where they are processed. More than 57,000 unaccompanied children have been apprehended at the southwestern border since October, many through the Rio Grande Valley, more than twice the total this time last year.
