Many gathered at Loudon Park Cemetery to attend the 141st commemoration of Confederate Memorial Day in Maryland. The Maryland Division of the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC), along with other patriotic and heritage preservation groups, hosted the annual ceremony to honor the thousands of soldiers who served the Confederacy during the War Between the States. Over 600 Confederate soldiers are buried at Loudon Park.

The accident – the deadliest in the history of Mount Everest – triggered a dispute between sherpa guides who wanted a climbing ban in honor of their colleagues and the Nepali government that refused to close the mountain. The sherpas staged a boycott, forcing hundreds of foreign climbers to call off their bids to climb Everest.

Each horse will arrive backed by some narrative explaining why he could be the one to spoil the coronation.

June 6th marks the 70th anniversary of D-Day and “Operation Overlord”, a vast military operation by Allied forces in Normandy, which turned the tide of World War II, eventually leading to the liberation of occupied France and the end of the war against Nazi Germany.
